Mrs. Welch's 3rd grade class has been learning about potential and kinetic energy and how they relate to force and motion. We built catapults using rubber bands and craft sticks, then we launched candy pumpkins and measured how far they traveled. Finally, we discussed the reasons why some pumpkins traveled farther than others!

Mrs. Lankford’s class is having fun with geography! Today her students used balloons to make globes. They also learned about natural resources found across the United States by reading the book, How to Make a Cherry Pie and see the U.S.A. and were able to try a cherry pie of their own.

During the 2025 legislative session, Florida Statute 381.992 established the Type 1 Diabetes Early Detection Program.
The Florida Department of Health, in collaboration with Florida school districts, has developed materials to help parents and guardians learn about the early detection of Type 1 diabetes.
👉 These materials are especially for families with children in Pre-K, Kindergarten, and 1st Grade and are now available online.
📄 Check out the Diabetes Early Detection Program >>https://5il.co/3qbx8 or Visit FL Department of Health Diabetes Website
We encourage parents and guardians to review these resources and stay informed.
