FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
CRAWFORDVILLE, Fla. — Wakulla County Schools have once again set the standard for student success, earning the highest graduation rate in the state of Florida for the 2024–2025 school year at an impressive 97.6%, according to newly released data from the Florida Department of Education.
This achievement places our district #1 statewide, marking a 0.5% increase over the previous school year and reinforcing our position as Florida’s graduation leader two out of the last three years—a distinction that reflects sustained excellence and consistency over time.
Florida as a whole reached a historic milestone this year, posting its highest statewide graduation rate ever at 92.2%. Wakulla High School’s results were even higher than the district average at 98.4% and significantly exceeded the state benchmark, highlighting the strength of the school’s academic culture and student support systems.
Superintendent Rick Myhre states, “Everyone in Wakulla knows how exceptional our schools are across the board, and while this success is attributed greatly to the hard work at WHS, it certainly begins in Pre-K and couldn’t be possible without the support of our entire community. I am also proud to note that as you break down the data, we are not a district of haves and have-nots. 100% of our African-American, Hispanic, and ESE students are graduating on-time which clearly shows WHS is an outstanding place where all students are able to find success. This is true testament to the personal connections our teachers make, and the opportunities we create with our extracurriculars and CTE programs which continue to engage our high school students to keep them enrolled.”
